The right stylist will paint on highlights in a way that looks naturally fabulous. Up until recently, Foiling has been the go-to way to highlight hair and is still a process stylists use regularly. The Foiling process starts by sectioning off your hair, painting the exact portions, and separating them with aluminum foils. So, should you Balayage your hair or use foils to highlight? If you are looking for a very uniform and symmetrical highlight in your hair, then foils might be right for you. The downside to foils, however, is that you will not have a natural look and will have to return to re-highlight your hair more often than a Balayage highlight.
Balayage is created by painting hair in a way to look natural. The painting is sporadic, but with intent to give the hair brightness. The color is more subtle and will allow you to have longer time in-between touch-ups, which saves you money and time. So the choice is yours between Foiling and Balayage.
